My name is Chris Wasson I was born in Macon, but grew up in Augusta, Ga. Graduating from Butler high school, I then joined the U.S. Army, and spent the next 5 years stationed in Korea and Ft. Stewart, Georgia.
After my initial enlistment, I began working at Bridgestone Firestone. Where I worked for 10 years. While employed with Bridgestone, I was also in the Army Reserve. In 2003, I received deployment orders to Afghanistan where I worked in Detainee Operations as an M.P. It was after this; that I was introduced to my wife Nichole, we have been blessed with two children named Valarie and Bradley. Due to injuries sustained in Afghanistan, I was forced to resign from Bridgestone. It was thru this that I received my call into ministry. I attended The Baptist College of Florida where I graduated with my degree in Ministry Studies.
Since graduation, I have been the pastor of Long Creek Baptist Church, where I served for 4 ½ years. If there is one thing that you need to know about me, it is I strongly believe that the book of Acts serves to demonstrate God’s expectations of the modern church. A church’s focus should always be on educating the faithful to reach the lost and to be the vehicle through which this is done. Evangelism should always be mine, yours, and the churches main focus with the goal of “One More”. Always looking to lead “one more” to Christ. I look forward to all the ministry opportunities that lay ahead with Old Union, and I am excited and grateful for the opportunity God and Old Union has provided.
Your Pastor Chris Wasson
